THE TREVLONIAN THREAT.
In the year () it is told that the Acalians (hence known in these documents as the Grenokan tribe), fled across the sea, and discovered
what is now known as Acalia. This discovery happened during the Trevlonian threat. The land that the Grenokan tribe had discovered was being under attack very often. But after some time, the Trevlonians came back. They were brutal, useing light cavalry and, great mounted archers.
The Grenokans where no match for them.
The Trevlonians wanted the fruitful and lush land for their own, looking at the Grenokians as a threat for their future. The Grenokians were far better at cultivating, forresting, leatherworking and even had more magical skills then the Trevlonians. Envy grew, and the Grenokians were pushed utterly further away.
The Grenokian tribe king; Edbord made the decision that would save his people.
They fled across the ocean.
What later is happened to the Trevlonians is yet uncertain.
But some old texts say they dissapeared. Perhaps mingled with other tribes until there were none pure blooded Trevlonians left.
The establishment of Lakeside
The first settlers.
Here comes the story of Lakeside as it was told by Osric the Traveller, who gathered documents enough along the four corners of our land to put some order in the darkness of our history.
Here it begins:
For about 460 years ago there was a dark and misty night.
Out of the mist came a ship, it wore the banners of Acalia raised up high. The flag blew gently in the breeze. The crew paddled ashore went to seek food and clean fresh water, but the passengers brought with them a dark and mysterious plague.
They hurried inland from the ocean shores towards a great lake with fresh streams pouring into it. Never before had they tasted fresher water, nor sweeter and satiating. They decided to make camp quick and attend to the sick. Thanks to the Gods, not everyone on board were infected with the mysterious plague, but why were only some infected, or if was this plague just a beginning, no-one could know it by that time.
The first days.
Morning came, and the first rays of the sun were a glad welcome. Out from a tent stood their leader; Knight Darrel Silverton. His armour shined bright and his bright blue eyes gazed upon the beautiful lake. «We shall settle down here he said. Take whatever you can from the ship, and we shall use the timber from the Mistbreaker, that brought us so far, to lay foundation for our houses and our homes.» And they did so.
The foundation.
So the first settlement was established and the name Lakeside came to be.
But the plague continued…
More crew became infected after some months, and Knight Silverton ordered for a holy house to be built. Thus the first large building was raised. The people started praying to the Lord of the Light for guidance and protection, and the deceased were layed to rest at the cemetary around the holy house so that they would get eternal rest in holy ground. And so the power of Illuvar cleansed Lakeside, and for some time, the plague disappeared. The settlers experienced a time of happiness and growth and the village expanded with the creation of the blacksmith and the sawmill. The forest around were rich and plenty with wood, and gave shelter for an abundance of animals. Lakeside was thriving, people were at rest. Knight Silverton died from old age and got buried in what is being called the knights grave. The plague was gone… for the moment.
Soon, Lakeside was visited by people from Brecon and Targur, and a profitable trading route was stablished between the three villages.
The second settlers.
Three hundred years passed when suddenly a shadow appeared on the ocean waves. It was a ship, but where did it come from? It wore the Acalian flag but it had no defined banners. The sails were shredded and the boat seemed to be sinking. Out from the sinking ship rowed men and women. Lakeside’s neighbors rushed towards them to help.
But the ship sank to the bottom of the bay. The few survivors spoke of a mysterious plague and an island from where they came from. The infected were quickly brought to the holy house, but days after they passed away. There were still visitors alive and seemingly healthy and unaffected by the mysterious plague. Was this the same, that had befallen the others so many years ago?
Mystery deepens and the birth of Triliton.
Triliton was born in a time of growth and plenitude for Lakeside, when lots of other boys and girls were born. But the mysterious plague stroke back, and Triliton’s parents got infected, same as many other neighbours. A few weeks after he was 10, his parents passed away, leaving more questions than answers. Why did suddenly people get infected again? And why the plague always unexpectedly disappeared?
Current timeline.
Because it disappeared again. But not on Triliton’s mind. He kept wondering about the plague. And, finally, he left Lakeside to venture on a mysterious quest, in order to get the answers he needed.
Meanwhile, on Lakeside, the plague is gone… and life continues.
