The Realm has a very diverse geology and it has alot of different metals and gems too.
Here is a list of the ores that can be found in the Realm.
ORES:
Iron ore
Iron ore is one of the most 2nd valued and used ores in all of Ethea. It has so many useful properties. Iron was the first ore humans learned to use in the realm. Iron ore is abundant trough the Realm and can be found in very small hights or even at the deepest depths.
Tin ore
Tin is a more lighter version then iron. It has also almost the same properties as iron but it doesnt require the same heat to melt. Therefor its often used for tools rather then weapons. Tin has a lesser strength then iron. Tin is also an ore thats easy to discover.
Coal ore
There wouldnt be any industry, nor any advancement without coal.
No other resource is more valuable then coal. Luckily its also the most abundant ore to be found. Coal changed everything when once discovered. There is a legend telling that there is a dwarf who has the abilities to craft Coal into armour. Coal can be found in the common rocks.
Copper ore
The copper mines are one of the biggest in Ethea. Copper is mostly used for the currency in Ethea. There are more copper coins being used then iron or gold. Thats because copper coins are the lowest form for currency in the realm. But copper has also many other properties. It can be made into armour and weapons too. Copper armour is said to be far better to wear for comfort then iron. But copper is less stronger then iron. Copper has a low smelting temperature and its therefor easy to use.
Gold ore
Gold has always been a very precious metal. It has doomed many men into searching for it. Gold has very good smelting properties and doesnt need to get so warm as iron. This makes gold easy to use for jewelry and other items. Gold has been used alot by Elves and Dwarves over time. Humans learned how to refine Gold from the Dwarves. Elves also are masters of refining gold ore. But they keep their secrets to themselves.
Mithril ore
Mythril is the most loved ore amongst Dwarven. Its the Dwarves who first mined and refined it. It has very strong properties, stronger then steel, and its alot more flexible too. This makes it a very valued ore for armour. It has very good durabillity, more as diamond. Yet its expensive to repair.
Onyx ore
This is a strange crystal ore. It is also a very dark ore with various properties. It is very strong, and is used for weaponry, armor and tools. Onyx ore can only be refined by Dwarves and Elves. Its know to be very sharp and have glass like properties.
Redstone ore
Now this ore is known for its special properties and the charged-powers inside it possesses. Redstone is used for mechanics and was first introduced to humans by Dwarves. Dwarves more then any other race use Redstone for their enormous machines and forges. Redstone is found deep within the rocks. Redstone can with craftmanship be crafted for armour. Its said to have special properties when worn.
Lapiz ore
Lapiz is the ore that is being used for decorative and jewelry.
Elves fancy Lapiz and used them in their buildings for decorative purposes. Elves are the only race that can craft Lapiz armour.
Lapiz armour has some very special properties when worn.
Diamond ore
The most precious ore of them all is offcourse Diamond. It has also a variety of properties. But amongst all of them is its durability. It is however very expensive and dangerous to accuire diamonds.
Diamond armour has been very refined by Elves and Dwarves, but the technique has also been handed down to humans. Some blacksmiths are extremely good at crafting tools, weapons or armour from diamonds.
Emerald ore
Emerald is the most expensive and the most rarest of the rock ores.
Its the most valued coin, and it is extremely expensive to craft. Tho Emerald can be crafted for weapons, it can also be crafted for armour. Dwarves put Emerald ores on top of their top 5 favourites. They fancy Emerald ore and try to keep most of it to themselves. Emerald has like Diamonds high durability. Due to the cost of forging Emerald its very rare. Humans have also learned how to forge Emerald armour.
